OSUN: Oyetola’s Lieutenant Empowers Over 300 Persons In Modakeke

To continue the legacy of the
immediate Governor of Osun State, Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola in reaching out to the less privileged in the society, Engr. Kayode Sowade organised an empowerment programme for people of Modakeke, Ife East local government area of Osun State.

The programme which was held on Sunday at Modakeke Town hall, was tagged “Oyetola hand of fellowship” and targeted about 400 persons.

The beneficiaries were drawn from all wards of Ife East and they were given cash gifts.

In an interview, organiser of the event, Engr Sowade said the programme was aimed at giving palliatives the widows, aged and vulnerable people in the society in other to extend Oyetola hands of fellowship. He said the event will not only give beneficiaries some hopes, but also let them know that the All Progressives Congress is much on ground and still listens to their yearnings.

Former Commissioner for Finance, Mr Bola Oyebanmji representing the former Governor described the programme is a service to humanity, which former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola was known for.

“The programme is a service to humanity, it’s should be encouraged because government cannot do it all”.

He commended the effort of Sawade for the initiative, adding that all lieutenants of Oyetola will go and replicate such gesture in the domains.

“It is very important to add value to the society. We’ve learnt from this initiative, we would do the same in our domains. This is what our Leader represents and we all must work towards this direction,” he said.

Former Commissioner on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Adebayo Adeleke, who was also present at the programme, said the programme is a postive step that APC is a welcomed party in the State and a party that cares about its followers.

“Serving humanity is not about politics, we would continue  the goodwill as Oyetola did while he was in Office. We would extend the initiative to all Communities in order to expand the scope and bring more people to benefit,” he said.

Former Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Olumo Sunday Akere also added the programme is a good one and should be encouraged. He said such event will prepare APC for the election ahead by integrating party faithful.

“The people are in the mind of APC, Oyetola not in power does not mean they would not support the less privilege. Leaders of APC are known for such and will continue to support the needy in their respective society.

One of the beneficiaries, Goke Adebowale described Sowade as a philanthropist of note in Modakeke, appreciating him for continued Oyetola hand of fellowship.

The event was graced by political leaders across Osun State, religious leaders and community leaders led by the National President of Modakeke Progressive Union, Professor Olawoni.

Prof. Olawoni commended Sowade for his initiative, stating that the community will forever be grateful to the gesture as helped cushion effect of economic hardship on some families.
