Coalition Of The Youth Voice Movement Condemns Fuel, Naira Scarcity, Gives Osun Govt 3-Day Ultimatum

The Coalition of the Youth Voice Movement has called on the Osun State Government to find a lasting solution to the scarcity of fuel and naira notes in the country, AMILOADED reports.

The Movement, in a statement jointly signed by its President and General Secretary, Comrade Adebisi Emmanuel Oluwaseun and Comrade Owolabi Hassan Olanrewaju respectively on Wednesday, gave the state government a three-day ultimatum to resolve the issues.

It added that the youths in the state will stage a protest if the concerned authorities fail to resolve the issues by Monday, February 13, 2023.

The Coalition of the Youth Voice Movement said, “On behalf of the Coalition of the Youth’s Voice Movement’s Osun State chapter, the umbrella of all youth groups in Osun State, we are known for speaking out against bad governance, any form of tyranny, and any ill circumstances against the masses within Osun State and beyond, and as such, we want quick action regarding the ongoing hoarding of new naira notes, the inaccessibility of the masses’ money in the bank, coupled with fuel scarcity and a hike in prices. It is evident that politicians and some banks have been behind these difficulties as they linger.

“We are calling on the concerned authorities to do the needful, as we cannot condone this any longer. We have been patient enough, as we are aware the State Government of Osun State already has a committee looking into the matters, but until now nothing has been heard by the public. We are giving a three-day ultimatum with regard to this.

“We are peacemakers, and that is why we dissociated ourselves from the initial planned protest by a group, as we also felt that there was a political undertone, and moreover, the general election is fast approaching, and we don’t want any impediment at this crucial moment. If the concerned authorities fail to resolve these issues, we shall come up with a peaceful protest by Monday, February 13, 2023.”
