UNIOSUN Drivers’ Welfare Association Set To Hold 10th Anniversary

Osun State University Drivers’ Welfare Association, under the stewardship of the Chairman, Mr. Raji Kareem, is poised to hold its 10th year anniversary, on Saturday, 26th November, 2022, at the University’s Multipurpose Hall, main campus, Osogbo, by 10:00AM.

The celebration of the association’s first decade would entail presentation of awards of excellence to esteemed personalities who have in one way or another contributed to the growth of the University and a fundraiser of the sum of ten million naira (N10,000,000) for the procurement of a Toyota Hiace bus.

In a statement, the Association’s Chairman said “a handful of us started this association in 2012, today, we are a fledging union. I give thanks to Almighty Allah for the unity and love which has been the foundation of our sustained growth over the years. I also appreciate everyone we would be presenting awards of excellence to on that illustrious day for supporting our association through thick and thin and serving the University meritoriously. He stated further that the awardees were selected based on their track records and contributions to the growth and development of our great association in particular and Osun State University in general.

The following individuals would be recipients of awards at the anniversary:

1. Mallam Yusuf Olaolu Ali, SAN, FCIArb, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Osun State University;
2. Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye, Vice-Chancellor, Osun State University;
3. Professor Abiodun Charles Alao, Member, Governing Council, Osun State University;
4. Professor Oguntola Jelil Alamu, Director of the Centre for Renewable Resources and former Acting Vice-Chancellor, Osun State University;
5. HRM, Oba(Dr) Adedokun Omoniyi Abolarin, Orangun of Oke-Ila;
6. HRM, Oba (Dr) Hammed Adekunle Makama Oyelude, Olowu of Kuta;
7. Professor Monsuru Adeleke, Director of Academic Planning, Osun State University;
8. Engr. Ade Adepoju, Director of Works, Maintenance and Physical Planning, Osun State University;
9. Mr Akinlade Ben, Southwest Zonal Coordinator, National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapon, and immediate past Chief Security Officer, Osun State University;
10. Engr. Adebowale Olawuyi, Information Management and Technology Centre, Office of the Vice-Chancellor, Osun State University;
11. Hon. Oriola Oladipupo Kabir, President, Osun State University Alumni Association;
12. Engr. Abdul Ganiyu Bello; CEO ABG Automatic Motor Engineering; and
13. Engr. Oyetunde Oyewale; CEO, Oyetunde Building Construction Company.

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council of Osun State University, Mallam Yusuf Olaolu Ali, SAN, FCIArb, is the Chairman of the Day, and the Orangun of Oke-Ila, HRM, Oba (Dr) Adedokun Omoniyi Abolarin, is the Royal Father of the Day.
