The Osun State chapter of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) has suspended the party chairman and secretary in the state, Com. Remi Ayanlade and Com. Bimbo Fasasi, respectively, AMILOADED reports.
The suspension was disclosed in a communique signed by the party’s acting secretary, Segun Oguntunde, on Saturday.
Oguntunde suspension of the party chieftains followed the report of the disciplinary committee set up by the state executives of the Osun State Young Progressives Party (YPP) to investigate the legal action instigated by Ayanlade and Fasasi.
He said, “The suspended Osun State Chairman Com. Remi Ayanlade and the State secretary Com. Bimbo Fasasi were both summoned by the committee on the 1st of September, 2022 to be precise and were both given a period of time to make that happen. However, the invitation was not honored within the set given time frame.
“They both made themselves available in a four hours duration meeting before the honourable committee, at their own time, after two weeks of the invitation. During the deliberations, some revelations came to the lime light and that informed our resolution
“The committee resolved that the suspended state chairman Com. Remi Ayanlade should make available the original signed hard copy of the lawsuit filed against Osun State Independent Electoral Council before the Honourable Committee.
“All measures put in place, to receive the filled hard copy of the lawsuit from the suspended chairman proved abortive.
“This action also validates many atrocities discovered in the course of the investigation which include abuse of power.
“The Disciplinary committee resolution is that the suspended chairman and the secretary are guilty of the allegations levied against them which are categorized into the following offences in line with our party constitution (Article 36.7);
“Breach of party constitution; Say and does things that brought party into disrepute, hatred and contempt; Disobey and neglect to carry out lawful directive of the party; Engages in dishonest practices.
“Engages in anti-party; Engages in conduct likely to cause disaffection for party members; Promote factions.”
Oguntunde adde, “In lieu of this, the State Exco hereby suspend Comrade Remi Ayanlade as the State chairman and Com Bimbo as party Secretary with immedihate effect.
“It was agreed the YPP State Chairman Com Remi Ayanlade and YPP State Secretary henceforth should not parade themselves as YPP State Exco until when they are cleared and reinstated back to their position.
“Also, included, the suspended Executives have been asked to submit every of the party’s belongings in their care to the State YPP Secretariat including the Key of the Secretariat,” he noted.
