The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Football Club, EFCC FC has emerged victorious with a 4-2 win over Osun United FC in the ongoing Federation Cup.
The EFCC team defeated their opponent 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in normal time in the game played at the Akwa Stadium in Anambra State on Wednesday.
The team earned a place in the competition after winning the F.C.T FA Cup.
This victory not only highlights EFCC FC’s competitive spirit but also cements their position in the tournament by securing a spot in the round of 32.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission made this known in a post on its Facebook page on Friday.
The post read, “The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Football Club, EFCC FC, on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, defeated their counterparts Osun United FC, in the ongoing Federation Cup in a crucial match that ended 4-2.
“The game, which took place at the Akwa Stadium in Anambra State in front of sport lovers and cheerleaders, saw the EFCC team defeat their opponent in a penalty shootout which ended 4-2 after a breathtaking 1-1 draw during full time of play.”
