Consider Iwobi’s Mental Health, Osimhen Urges Fans

AMILOADED MEDIA HUB NEWS UPDATE

Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, on Tuesday, February 13, showed support to fellow player, Alex Iwobi, who has been blamed by fans as the cause of the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) loss on Sunday.

Some Nigerians have taken to social media to make unpleasant remarks at Iwobi.

Osimhen urged fans to consider the mental health of Iwobi as footballers are humans who can make mistakes.

According to the Napoli star, he said: “It is really sad what he’s going through for the past two weeks, some of our fans should do better.

“I urge Nigerians that are cyberbullying players, because we are also humans. Sometimes we make mistakes. Sometimes, we have a good game, and we will get the hype. But of course, when you criticise, you have to be constructive when doing these type of things.

“I think, to be fair, what they have done to Alex is out of this world and not good. They should also look at his mental health because there are some of us that can take this to heart and then keep on grinding.

“And there are some of us that it gets to our heads, and they will lose focus, and we will lose form. So I think we have rallied around him. We have spoken to him individually and collectively. I think he’s strong and ready to give himself for his nation.”
