Osun Labour Debunks April Salary Non-Payment Rumour, says Govt Paid Friday

The Osun State Labour movement has denied reports that the state government has yet to pay workers in the state their salary for the month of April 2023, AMILOADED reports.

The Chairman Nigeria Civil Service Union in Osun State, Dr Christopher Arapasopo, in a statement on Sunday, said the Osun State Government has paid workers in the state their April salary since Friday, April 28, 2023.

Arapasopo said, “The Osun State Labour movement wishes to debunk the rumour being peddled around by unscrupulous elements who are enemies of Osun workers, that the State government has failed in its monthly financial obligations to the Osun State Workforce by not paying salaries for the month of April, 2023.

“We debunked this barefaced lie and unequivocally state as follows:

“That the Osun State Government has effected the payment of April, 2023 salary of its workers since Friday 28th April, 2023.

“That the employees of Local Government across the State have started receiving their salaries alert from the above mentioned date.

“That the little delay with that of the State Workers is as a result of a minor technological issue being experienced by First Bank Plc and has already been resolved.

“That the State Workers will start receiving their salary alert as from Tomorrow Monday, 1st of May 2023 which incidentally is an historical day to the Osun Workers.

“That the ‘say and do’ Governor of the State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has also effected the April salary with the outstanding promotion (s) of the Osun State Workers.

“At this juncture, the Labour movement wishes to assure the entire workers that the Administration of Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke will leave no stone unturned to ensure that the welfare and wellbeing of itss workers are given the upmost deserved attention,” the statement read.
