Former Gov Oyetola’s Aide, Binuyo Loses Father

Sheikh Najeemdeen Adegbite Binuyo’s death was announced by the Lagos Mainland Muslim Community with details of his burial scheduled for Tuesday (today)In Lagos.

Sheikh Binuyo, a renowned author and scholar died in the early hours of Tuesday at aged 96.

The mandatory Islamic funeral prayers will be performed on his corpse at the Lagos State Secretariat Central Mosque, Tuesday, 24 January 2023 after the afternoon prayer, Salatul Zuhr while burial holds at the Lagos Mainland Muslim Community Cemetery at Ofada, Ogun State.

However, Former Osun Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola on Tuesday, condoled with Abdullah Adeyanju Binuyo, over the death of his father, the late Sheikh Najeemdeen Adegbite Binuyo.

The late Sheikh Binuyo, 96, an illustrious son of Inisa in Odo-Otin Local government area of Osun, died in the early hours of Tuesday, 24 January, 2023.

Prominent among the children of the deceased is Abdullah Adeyanju Binuyo, who served as the Deputy Chief of Staff to Oyetola from 2018 to 2022.

Oyetola described the death of the late Sheikh Binuyo as a great loss to Osun, Lagos, his entire family and the Muslim community in Nigeria.

Oyetola, in a statement by his Media aide, Ismail Omipidan, described the late Sheikh Binuyo as a devout Muslim, renowned author, scholar and well respected broadcast journalist who devoted his life to productive ventures and showed his children the path to success.

He further said “Dear Abdullah Binuyo, I received with great shock the passing of your father and respected community leader, the late Sheikh Najeemdeen Adegbite Binuyo, who died today. Although he was an old man, the death of a beloved one is usually devastating no matter how old the person may be.

“We should however be consoled by the fact that Baba lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation.

“Allah will comfort you, your siblings and the Muslim community in our dear state and Lagos State. His death is no doubt a heavy loss to the family and the entire Muslim community.

“My deep condolences go to the entire family as well as the Muslim community in Inisa especially and Osun in general. I pray Allah grant him Aljanat Firdaus and I pray Allah to give you, your siblings and the entire Muslim community in Nigeria the courage and fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss,” Oyetola added.
