The Osun State Chairman of Action Alliance (AA), Hon. Ogunmodede Adeloye, says he was not aware of the petitions filed by the senatorial candidates and House of Assembly candidates in the state, AMILOADED reports.
Adeloye, while speaking at a press conference in Osogbo on Wednesday, said the candidates who filed the petitions after the February 25 and March 18 elections were not member of the party.
The AA chairman added that he has been directed by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party to engage the services of lawyer (s) to immediately withdraw the petitions.
He said, “It came to the notice of the National Secretariat of our party some days ago that some disgruntled elements parading themselves as the Senatorial candidates and House of Assembly candidates of AA in Osun State filed some petitions at the Tribunal on the National Assembly Elections conducted on February 25, 2023.
“Action Alliance wish to notify good people of Osun State that the said petitions are not to our knowledge and the persons who filed them are not members of our party at any time.
“Moreso, the petitioners were never fielded as respective candidates of our party for the respective elections they are purportedly challenging.
“Sequel to this, the National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Think Tank Committee (NTTC) of Action Alliance as directed me, Hon. Adeloye, to engage the services of a lawyer or team of lawyers to immediately withdraw the said petition.”
