AMILOADED MEDIA HUB NEWS UPDATE
The Coalition of Youth’s Voice Movement, Osun State, chapter, has visited the new Commissioner of Police posted for the Osun Ad-Hoc Election Duty 2023, Mr. Peter Abayomi, urging the police for free, fair and credible elections, AMILOADED reports.
The group led by its president, Comrade Adebisi Emmanuel Oluwaseun, and the secretary, Comrade Owolabi Hassan Oluwatobi, on Thursday, also visited the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Peter Abayomi.
Speaking, Oluwaseun urged peter Abayomi to tell the police officers to perform their duty so as to maintain peace before, during and after the elections.
Abayomi, in his speech, appreciated the CYVM leaders for being the advocate of the peace and youths ambassador.
He said he was sent on an assignment for a credible environment before during and after election, adding that the police force cannot do it alone.
He said the police need the support of reasonable and right thinking youths to carry out the assignment successfully, saying the country “belongs to all of us and the future of the country belongs to the youths; the youths must position themselves to be active, relevant and participate in leadership positions.”
The police commissioner appealed to the youthss to reach out to their fellows and liberate them across the nooks and crannies in the state to maintain peace.
Abayomi made reference to the June 12 election issues, saying that “it is where we have peace that we can have a daily activities and running our business”.
He added that youths must be ambassador and lead by example, warning them against destroying government property, attacking police and burning vehicles during crisis.
On his part, DCP Tahir implored the youths to help the security agencies to expose anybody that can cause violence in the state.
