The Oyo State Government has revealed that the principals of schools recently delisted by the West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC) for examination malpractices in the state would be sanctioned.
It also added that the parents of the students involved would also be sanctioned.
It was gathered that WAEC had delisted about 50 secondary schools in the state over examination malpractices.
Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Abiodun Abdu-Raheem, made the disclosure in Ibadan, the state capital.
He added that the state government would not tolerate examination malpractices. He also warned principals to desist from encouraging examination malpractices.
Abdu-Raheem said, “It should be noted that, the Oyo State Government has zero tolerance for examination malpractices, therefore, Principals and Teachers of both Private and Public Schools and parents were earlier warned to desist from any act of collaboration on examination malpractices as sanctions would be meted to concerned staff and parents”.
