AMILOADED MEDIA HUB NEWS UPDATE

The teenagers Leadership Bootcamp organised by the lawmaker representing Ede federal constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Bamidele Salam, has commenced in the Ede area of Osun State, AMILOADED reports.

Speaking with newsmen, Salam said the purpose of the training is to raise future leaders, to equip them with necessary information that will help them in their chosen career.

The lawmaker said, “The most important thing for anyone who is a leader is to work very hard to replicate more leaders. And if you see any leader whose only concern is how to win election, such fellow is not worthy to be a leader. Leaders think about generations.

“My most demanding task at the moment is to replicate good leadership and these young ones you are seeing here today, in another seven to ten years, are those who will be occupying these very critical positions of decision making in this country, either as professionals, as intellectuals or political leaders and whatever preparation that we give them today will go a long way in determining how well they will serve in those capacities tomorrow.”

Speaking at the event, the chairman, organising committee, Dr. Buari Abiodun, said, “The aim of this program is reorientation of our youths to prepare them for future challenges. Apart from familiarisation, this will give them opportunity of relating with different set of people. Also, we are going to take them through on how to be financial independent.

“You will agree with me that there are lot of opportunities through the use of social media. How best they can use the platform to their advantage, we are going to teach them. The program is well packaged that at the end of training, they would have gained one or two things.

Two hundred teenagers from Ede South, Ede North, Egbedore and Ejigbo local government are expected to participate in the bootcamp.

The three-day event will feature sessions on Leadership, Career talks, Volunteering, Public Speaking, Healthy living, Financial Literacy, Drug abuse, SDGs, and Quiz Competition.
