The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, on Monday married his sixth wife in two months.
The marital rites for his latest bride, Princess Temitope Adesegun, took place in the Magodo area of Lagos State.
Following Ooni’s recent marriages, social media users have likened the Osun State monarch to the Biblical King Solomon, who had 700 wives and 300 concubines.
A Facebook user, Ayoola Sunday, said, “This is another King Solomon in modern age. You are permitted. More wives and more children to ascend the throne.”
Another user, Oluwakayode Emmanuel, said, “Long Live Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II. King Solomon and father of many wives of the 21st century.”
“Congratulations. Ooni’s palace is big enough to accommodate 100 women,” Mhiz Chike said.
Nigerians on Twitter also reacted to the Ooni’s latest moves, as they also compared him to King Solomon.
A tweep, @moremitur, said, “The way Ooni of Ife is moving lately, he will soon beat King Solomon’s record.”

Another tweep, @degbenroh, said, “Ooni of Ife trying to be King Solomon of our generation. Nice to see.”
“Solomon must be proud of Ooni,” @sethbertocarlos tweeted.
“Ooni of Ife is following King Solomon’s footsteps? Dear boys, go get married because Ooni isn’t playing,” @aries_countess wrote.
“Seems the target of the Ooni of Ife is to break King Solomon’s record of wives,” @afosoli said.
The monarch on Thursday, October 20, 2022, married his fifth wife and founder of African Fashion Week, Ronke Ademiluyi, who is the great-granddaughter of the 48th Ooni of Ife, Ajagun Ademiluyi.
After his marriage to Naomi Silekunola failed in December 2021, the monarch has since married five women in less than two months.
The queens are; Mariam Anako, September 6, 2022; Elizabeth Akinmudai; Tobiloba Philips, October 9, 2022; Ashley Adegoke, October 14, 2022; and Ademiluyi, October 20, 2022.
However Charly Boy on his Twitter handle revealed how he is struggling to stay married to just one woman, while the Ooni of Ife in less than 2 months is married to six women.
He wrote, “I have been struggling to stay married to one woman for over 45yrs.
“Yet my fellow man, the Ooni of Ife in less than 2 months married 6 wives. Juju.
“I must go to this Ooni’s for tutorials. How is he doing it? What if he ends up marring 6 more, will it become a football team?.
