Eid-el-kabir:Babayemi Tasks Nigerians on Selflessness

A stalwart of the Osun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),Omooba Dotun Babayemi, has called on Nigerians to be selfless and sacrificial in their services to the country.

In his congratulatory message to Muslims on this year’s Eid-el-kabir celebration as issued by his Media Office and made available to journalists on Friday, Babayemi said the inherent lessons in Eid-el-kabir if taken to by the people, was capable of making the nation to regain its lost glory.

“The lessons embedded in Eid-el-kabir is beyond merriment and not meant for Muslims alone but for everyone who seeks the good of his neighbor and his/her immediate environment and country” he said

Babayemi implored the people to always be cautious with those they choose as leaders at different levels, insisting that the problem of the country essentially has to do with leaders.

“We are all in election mood now; it’s an opportunity for us to look before we leap; it’s an opportunity for us to choose wisely and correctly too. It’s high time we did away with mediocrity in leadership”the PDP chieftain cautioned.

He lamented that selfishness and greed have driven the nation and its people to the present deplorable condition, warning that unless there was a sincere change of heart, the situation would continue to be worsened.

Babayemi while rejoicing with the Muslims on this year’s celebration, charged that the principle of good neighbourliness and religious tolerance that could enhance peaceful co-existence and security of the society, should not be discarded.
