The Osun Classic Lions Club, District 404B2 Nigeria, has commissioned its club’s legacy project in Ikirun, Osun State, AMILOADED reports.
The project, which was the renovation of the science laboratory of Coker Memorial High School, Ìkìrun with tables and stools, was facilitated by the Osun Classic Lions Club.
The Immediate Past District Governor (IPDG) who was the chief host, Lion Otunba Ademola Adesoye, said, “The science laboratory is more important than the initial proposed project of toilet for teachers which was to give them preference, was opposed by the school authority.
“The school would soon have students in SSS 3 which would make a laboratory a more essential project and of more benefit to the students.”
On his part, Lion Prof. Fagboun addressed the gathering on the Lions Club and it’s involvement in the society, saying, “Lions Club is involved in environment and we have a youth wing of the club which is the Leos Club. He implored Coker Memorial school authority to build up the students by encouraging them to join the youth wing, so that early enough, they will imbibe the act of giving.
The project was Commissioned by the representative of the Lions DG, Lion Professor Dayo Fagboun and the Eesa of Ikirunland, Chief Lawal Adetoyese.
There were 6 laboratory tables, 60 stools donated, while the laboratory was painted.

Also Commissioner of Education representatives, Zonal, and Local Inspectors of Education, NUT Chairman, Alumni and people in the community were also present at the programme.
Ife Royal Lions Club, Ife Model Lions Club, Iyun Royal Lions Club were also present at the event.
