The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun Statw, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on Monday, held a campaign rally at Irewole and Isokan local government areas of the state, AMILOADED reports.
Addressing the people at the rallies, the Director General of Senator Ademola Adeleke Campaign Organisation, Hon. Sunday Bisi, said “with the rot created by the misrule of APC”, Osun State is in dire need of a capable hand that will rescue and rebuild the moribund state of the economy, education, infrastructure amongst others.
He added that Senator Adeleke remains the “only hope that can revive Osun State from the evil grip of Lagosians currently occupying Bola Ige House”.
Also speaking at the campaign grounds was the leader of Team Ìmólè, Prof. Adewale Oladipo, who said what the state civil servants and pensioners are passing through was as a result of “electoral mistake committed” in 2018 gubernatorial election.
He said unrelenting efforts at ensuring that “such error is not repeated is in top gear”, assuring that people’s mandate will not be shortchanged.
The Osun West senatorial candidate, Akogun Lere Oyewumi, while speaking, said the next governorship election provides the people of Osun State another opportunity to prove to the world that they are capable of fighting for themselves “against all rigging forces”, urging them to vote and defend their votes.
A member of the PDP Students Mobilisation Committee, Comrade Adegboyega Great Mathew, Coordinators of the committee in Irewole and Isokan local governments, Comrade Samuel Victor and Comrade Lawal Babatunde Soliu while sensitising electorates implore that no amount of money, cajoling and incitement should make youths and students sell their conscience for peanuts.
They also vowed to take the message to the nooks and cranies of Osun State to “ensure that Senator Ademola Adeleke becomes elected on July 16”.
In his address, Senator Adeleke promised the youths that instead of giving them fish, his administration will focus on leading them to grow economically.
The PDP governorship candidate said the people of Irewole and Isokan local governments are hardworking and enterprising, giving an assurance to launch Osun State into an accelerated economic growth and social development.
Others present at the campaign were prominent members of the party including the chairman of Osun State PDP caretaker committee, Dr. Akindele Adekunle, Hon Olaniran Akanfe Atidade, Elder Peter Babalola, Alhaji Ganiyu Ayobami Olaoluwa Asejere, Barr. Kolapo Alimi, among others.
