2022 Hajj: Osun Govt To Send Intending Pilgrims To Saudi Arabia On Sunday

The Osun State Government will on Sunday hold a farewell ceremony for intending pilgrims from the state for the 2022 holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, AMILOADED reports.

This was disclosed by the state’s Amirul-Hajj, Alhaji Moruf Ishola, whose appointment was announced by Governor Adegboyega Oyetola last week.

Ishola is the Naibul-Imam of Osogboland.

He explained that during the farewell ceremony, the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board will hold a special prayer and seminar for the prospective pilgrims to further equip them with necessary information in respect of their trip to the Holy Land.

He added that the farewell ceremony will hold at the State Government Secretariat Central Mosque, Abere, Osogbo by 10:00am prompt.

Ishola urged all the prospective pilgrims from the state to attend the programme as a matter of duty, just as he enjoined them to wear the designated attire (ankara) to the venue for easy identification.

The Amirul-Hajj also enjoined the intending pilgrims to continue to cooperate with the management of the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board and follow whatever information given to them ensure their safety before, during and after the Hajj exercise.

Intimating journalists on the level of preparation of the Board for this year’s Hajj exercise, the Administrative Secretary of the Board , Mr. Bolaji Sanni, said necessary provisions had been made to ensure easy transportation of the prospective pilgrims.

He disclosed that the approved 660 prospective pilgrims for this year’s Hajj will be departing the State and the country on Monday to Saudi Arabia.
