Football star, Cristiano Ronaldo, took many by surprise when he smashed the phone of a teenager after Everton defeated Manchester United 1-0 at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Although the 37-year-old took star to social media to apologise for his behavior and sought to invite the fan to a United match, social media users have been attacking him.

The mother of the Everton fan has since stated her family’s side of the story to the media, claiming Ronaldo’s action was an “assault” on her teenage son.

A Facebook user, Yasmine Ramzy Ghaith, said “We are humans, not angels! But you, as a famous football player, and one of the best in the world of football, setting an example for so many; you shouldn’t under any circumstances do such a thing! You need some anger management courses, it might help you with that! I suggest you get it from the best football player in the world Mohamed Salah. He does it best! You’re welcome CR7 👀🤝🏾”

@SamsonFamous said, “What is the different between this Attitude and that of Zuma kicking His own Cat, You Damaged someone’s property and you’re Inviting him to Old Trafford, to do what, Support Man U or look around the stadium, Common Think about it”.

@GabrieldinhoA said, “That’s what the GOAT does all the time in defeats. Wow! He is just too bad mannered. Can’t he learn from other best players?? We have seen Messi being beaten, fouled and abused by opponents and still gets up with love and cool heart for the game with no frustration. Learn manners.”
