Ibrahim Taofeeq Kayode, popularly known as ITK, has declared his intention to contest for House of Representatives seat to represent Irepodun/Olorunda/Orolu/Osogbo Federal Constituency, AMILOADED reports.
ITK made his intention known at a press conference he addressed in Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Tuesday.
He stated that he would vie for the House of Reps seat in the 2023 general election on the platform of the All Progressive congress (APC)
He said: “Seeing how it has become pertinent that our Federal Constituency, Irepodun/Olorunda/Orolu/Osogbo, gets a passionate Representative in the House of Representatives who understands the pains and challenges facing our dear people, Elders, Market women, youths and other stakeholders of our Constituency called upon me to contest to represent the Federal Constituency.
“I understand what they saw in me as my antecedents are well known. A lot of our youths are employed in several businesses I own within Osogbo and surrounding towns.
“I have been instrumental to the development of several people and communities within the Constituency, to the glory of God.
“Muslims and Christians alike, within our Federal Constituency, can testify to my contributions to the advancement of religious tenets, as a lot of people, old and young, can testify to my contributions to the growth and development of our dear State.
“Market men and women know for sure that I identify with them.
“Youths are sure that my doors have always been open to them and my heart open to assisting them in every way possible.
“I do not take this call to service for granted as it affords me the opportunity to contribute to the making and implementation of laws that will ensure youth empowerment; laws that will guarantee the welfare of workers and retirees; laws that will ensure improvement of our country’s security architecture; laws that will guarantee social security for all; laws that will ensure constant electricity and water supply; laws that will make life better for all of us.
“I have also come to understand that indeed, there is the need for a young person who has lived all his life in our midst, understands the yearnings of our people and can therefore deliver good dividends of democracy right from Abuja to the grassroots of our constituency to run.
“I have therefore heeded the call of my fathers, mothers, elders and friends to be that young person who rises to the occasion, to deliver quality representation to our people.
“I am ready to run and resolute to deliver good dividends to you.
“I am capable and willing and I call on all men and women of goodwill in our Federal constituency, to partner with my team on this project.
“I will be seeking the ticket of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the forthcoming Primaries of the Party and will be counting on the support of our delegates and party leaders to be victorious in a free, fair and impartial process that our party has been known for.
“I am convinced God is involved in this project and He will grant us success.
“Our Federal Constituency will witness massive development with my representation and Osun State will also continue to advance under the visionary leadership of Gov. Gboyega Oyetola, now and in his second term of office.”
