The Aragbiji of Iragbijiland in Osun State, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, has alleged the plan to cover the alleged killing of Saheed Ajibola Olabomi in the community by the police, AMILOADED.
Oba Olabomi said a team of policemen led by one Sgt. Adamu Garuba killed Saheed Ajibola Olabomi, who hails from the Olabomi Dynasty, at about 5:00pm at the Oke Onitii area of Osogbo, the Osun State capital on July 27, 2021.
The monarch, in a statement made available to AMILOADED on Wednesday, stated that since the incident occurred, the “Osun State Police Command led by Mr. Olawale Olokode the Commandant Mopol 39 Mr. Sebastian Moorkwap whose Aids are the personnel who committed the act and especially the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone XI Mr. Mukan Joseph Gobum have conspired to sweep the ignoble act of criminality of the personnel under the carpet”.
He added that the family insisted that deceased be taken to the hospital and autopsy was conducted by the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, which established that Saheed Olabomi was killed as a result of the injuries he received from the shot allegedly fired by Garuba Adamu.
The traditional ruler stated that all efforts at ensuring that Adamu Garuba and others were tried by the police failed even though the family and members of the public were made to believe that the police officer had been dismissed and that he would be prosecuted.
Oba Olabomi, however, said over more than six months, the suspects were not arraigned, adding, “Our family had to seek the taken-over of the matter by the state. Yet, it took several months before the file could be released to the Ministry.

TEXT OF A PRESS CONFERENCE ADDRESSED BY HRM OBA ABDUR-RASHEED AYOTUNDE OLABOMI (JP) ODUNDUN IV, THE ARAGBIJI OF IRAGBIJI ON BEHALF OF THE OLABOMI DYNASTY, IRAGBIJI, OSUN STATE ON THE GRUESOME MURDER OF SAHEED AJIBOLA OLABOMI (26) AND THE GRAND PLAN OF THE NIGERIA POLICE OSUN STATE COMMAND AND THE A.I.G (ZONE XI) TO COVER UP THE HEINOUS CRIME.
Gentlemen of the press,
I represent the OLABOMI dynasty of the Ajibode Ruling House, Iragbiji whose son was brutally murdered by a team of policemen led by Sgt. Adamu Garuba “M” Aged 39years and his other accomplices Sgt. Ajibola Dupe “F” Aged 37years, Sgt. Atighir Lawrence “M” Aged 40years and Sgt. John Yilkur “M” Aged 38years on July 27, 2021 at about 5:00pm at Oke Onitii area, Osogbo.
The said Sgt. Adamu Garuba was said to have pulled the trigger that sent our son, an harmless Saheed Ajibola Olabomi to his untimely death without any iota of provocation.
Since the incidence, the Nigeria Police Osun State Command led by Mr. Olawale Olokode the Commandant Mopol 39 Mr. Sebastian Moorkwap whose Aids are the personnel who committed the act and especially the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone XI Mr. Mukan Joseph Gobum have conspired to sweep the ignoble act of criminality of the personnel under the carpet.
Good enough, the family insisted that our son be taken to the hospital and Autopsy was conducted by the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Osogbo which established the fact that Mr. Saheed Olabomi was killed as a result of the injuries he received from the shot fired by Garuba Adamu.
All efforts at ensuring that Adamu Garuba and others were tried by the police (orderly Room Trial) failed even though our family and members of the public were made to believe that the Police Officer had been dismissed and that he would be prosecuted.
For more than six months, the suspects were not arraigned. Our family had to seek the taken-over of the matter by the state. Yet, it took several months before the file could be released to the Ministry.
Even after the release of the file, we have been in court twice, the police personnel were not brought to court.
On inquiry, it was discovered that Aig Mr. Mukan, Joseph Gobum was said to have been pressured by the Commandant Mopol 39 Mr. Moorkwap to subvert justice and exonerate a Murder suspect in a celebrated murder case.
OUR PRAYERS
I, on behalf of the OLABOMI family of Iragbiji hereby have the following prayers:
I call on the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, General Muhammadu Buhari GCFR to kindly intervene in an attempt to bury clear case of murder all because the perpetrator is a police personnel.
I also call on the Inspector General of Police Mr Usman Alkali Baba to direct the AIG Zone XI and his other Co-travellers to revisit the matter and allow justice to take its full course on the culprits.
I solicit the support of all media, Civil Society organizations, the Political Class and all Nigerians so that the blood of Saheed Olabomi who sadly left his aged parents, wife and children untimely will not be in vein.
I call on all Nigerians to save us from the pains of losing our son and not finding justice.
APPRECIATION
Our family thank the Executive Governor of Osun State, Dr. Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola who directed that Medical expenses on Saheed Olabomi at the hospital including Autopsy be settled by Government.
Besides, when the Police Authorities (from the level of the AIG,Zone XI to the Commissioner of police, to the MOPOL Commander) were not forthcoming, the office of the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice came to our rescue even though the Police Authorities are out to frustrate our family.
We thank members of the Commercial Motorcyclists Association some of who demonstrated against the gruesome murder of Saheed on the fateful day even as they were assaulted severally by so doing.
Many thanks to the Civil Society Organisations as well as the media for informing members of the public about the unfortunate killing of our son.
CONCLUSION
I like to conclude by calling on the President Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Inspector General of police, the Committee on Police Affairs at the Senate and the House of Representatives, Civil Society Organisations, the media and all Nigerians to call on the AIG Zone XI Osogbo the commissioner of Police Osun State and MOPOL 39 Commander Osogbo to stop covering up Murder charges against Mr. Adamu Musa and others who carried out the killing of our son Saheed Olabomi on July 27, 2022.
