TOP Vs Ilerioluwa Crisis: House Of Reps Member, Taiwo Oluga, Calls For Calm, Urges Members To Embrace Peace

A member of the House of Representatives representing Ayedaade, Irewole and Isokan Federal Constituency, Taiwo Oluga has reacted to the ongoing crisis rocking the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, calling on members of the party to give room for peace and mutual respect, AMILOADED reports.

The lawmaker made the call while responding to questions at the 3rd edition of Monthly Media Parley organised by the leadership of Osun Online Media Practitioners’ Association on Monday.

Oluga expressed her dissatisfaction over abuses and insults thrown at leaders and elders of the party just as she wondered what would be the fate of followers engaging in such act when these leaders resolve their differences.

Describing the crisis rocking the party as an in-house one, the lawmaker stated that there is hierachy and orderliness in APC and national leaders of the party will not allow the issue to affect the chances of party at the poll.

Speaking further on the issue, Oluga cited the ignorance and selfish interests of some followers as the petrol that keep the fire of the crisis burning.

The lawmaker further stated that the members of the APC should not allow selfish interests to divide the party, saying, “Many followers want to be commissioners. All of us can not be commissioners at the same time. That is the genesis of the issue. It is always one person per time.

“Power is transient. If you look at people championing or aggrevating this crisis, they are people who expected to be appointed into one office or the other but were not and believe that they need to pull this administration down,” she added.

Oluga said she does not belong to either TOP, or Ilerioluwa but the All Progressives Congress (APC) which, to her, is the most important.

She, therefore, ppealed to aggrieved members to calm and douse the tension in the interest of the party and Osun State at large.
