Muslims have been admonished to imbibe the lessons of the sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim and work for the peace, stability, unity and progress of the country.
A Gbongan born politician and security expert, Omooba Dotun Babayemi gave the charge while rejoicing with muslims on the occasion of this year Ileya festival.
According to him, Eid-el-Kabir comes with significant lessons for mankind by teaching and reminding us of the meaning of sacrifice, love, and forbearance with God and in our relationships with one another.
Omooba Babayemi charged the
people of Osun West Senatorial District, Osun state and Nigeria as
a whole to strive towards restoration
of peace,the spirit of service, patriotism
and love among the citizenry irrespective of religion,faith and tribe, in the overall interest of the people.
While noting that sallah is marked by social and religious gatherings where Muslim families and friends unite to pray together and give alms,Omooba Babayemi implored them that it is imperative to observe the holy festival with caution and vigilance by adhering strictly to all precautionary measures put in place to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
