Ede-Born Businessman And Philanthropist, Kamil Aransi, Announces Debate Competition In Osun Schools

 

As part of efforts to give back to the society and to motivate students to be more committed to their academic pursuit, an Ede-born businessman and philanthropist, Hon. Kamil Aransi, has announced a debate competition in all the secondary schools, both private and public schools in Ede South, Ede North, Egbedore and Ejigbo Local Government Areas of Osun State, AMILOADED reports.

Hon. Aransi, who is the founder of Kamil Aransi Foundation, made the disclosure in a media chat with journalists on Wednesday.

The popular businessman stressed that the level of decadence in education sector calls for urgent attention to arrest the situation, saying, “Back in the days when we were in school,Thursdays were for debates, but today nothing like that.

“There’s nothing we can compare with having good Education, we are what we are today through quality education we had.”

Hon. Aransi further disclosed that the competition had already began in some schools  in Osun State.

“Both Ede South and North had done theirs and to the glory of God, winners have emerged in those schools,” he said.

It was gathered that the competition in Ede South had Government Mega School as winner, Agbonran School of Science emerged as the runner-up while Centre point school came third and Ọba Laoye Grammar school came fourth.

However, the second stage will be Quiz and Debate with the topic, “The Examination Malpractice syndrome, who is to be blamed? The student, parents, teachers, school, the society or government?”

In Ede North Local Government, at the end of the first round, six schools emerged victorious. They are;

1st – Al-Fareed College

2nd – Adeleke University High School

3rd – Command Day Secondary School

4th – Fadl Omar Ahmadiyya Grammar School

5th – Al Haq Model College

6th – Ede Muslim Grammar School

They also will be going for the second stage of the competition which will be a Quiz and Debate competition with the topic, “A child raised by single parent excels better than the one raised by both parents.”

 

“By the special grace of God, immediately school resumes, we will move to Egbedore and Ejigbo Locals Governments for their first stage as this will avail us the opportunity to select winners that will be going for the second stage alongside Ede South and North Local Governments,” Hon. Aransi said.
