Karakata Career and Business Support Services, a solution-driven firm, is set to commence the documentation of unemployed persons across the 30 Local Governments of Osun State.
This was made known in a statement made available to AMILOADED by one of the Senior Managing Partners of the firm, Adedayo Oderinu, on Thursday.
According to him, the employment facilitation and Human Capacity Development firm is building a database of unemployed persons across Nigeria, using Osun State as the flagship state.
He noted that the database will contain qualification, location and updated contact details of unemployed educated persons with a minimum qualification of Ordinary National Diploma (OND).
Oderinu added that the database will also serve as an information bank for policy makers and private employers who from time to time, need to employ or make policies that affect the huge population of unemployed persons within Nigeria, with present attention on Osun.
He further noted it will also serve as a source of updated statistics for government agencies and private establishments who periodically need unemployment statistics.
Oderinu said, “the all-encompassing approach to this data collection, through the physical collection of data at all Local Government headquarters in the State, will afford the firm the opportunity to build a database that is both correct and can be virtually updated.
“Unemployed persons enrolled in the database will also be able to interact and relate progressively with Karakata, in a manner that helps them find jobs faster, getting support before getting jobs and in the course of doing the jobs they get.
“This effort, according to the promoters, is in fulfillment of Goal 8 of the Sustainable Development Goals – Decent Work and Economic Growth. The database will be known and referred to as the ‘Unemployment Database’ which will be available and accessible online once data collection is completed.
“The Official Flag-off of the Unemployment Database will be held on Saturday, 24th July, 2021 in Osogbo, the Osun State capital and the event will also feature the launch of the book titled ‘UNLEASH – Unveiling your Youthful Potentials’. The book is a career and life guide for young persons seeking to navigate their ways to the actualization of their career and life goals. It is written by Adedayo Oderinu, a Senior Managing Partner with Karakata Career and Business Support Services.”
According to him, relevant stakeholders, including policy makers and private sector employers are expected to grace the launch.
