Ex-Rep, Rivers APC Ex-chairman, Eight Others Set To Join PDP

Two former leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, including Igo Aguma, are set to dump the party and join the Peoples’ Democratic Party.

Leading the pack is Chief Davies Ikanya, a former State Chairman of the APC, and Rt. Hon. Aguma, a former member of the House of Representatives. They served during the administration of Rotimi Amaechi as the governor of the state.

Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, Tambari Gbara, gave the hint in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Friday.

According to PUNCH, Gbara said arrangements to formally receive them into the ruling party in the state by Governor Nyesom Wike on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the Rumueme Civic Centre had been finalised.

The statement reads,” The State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Rivers State Chapter Amb. Desmond Akawor, on behalf of the Party, joyfully welcomes the Executive Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, his Cabinet, Party Leaders, Stakeholders and supporters to the formal returning to our Party of the following persons; Dr. Ikanya Davies ( Former State Chairman, APC), Rt.Hon.Igo Aguma (former National Assembly Member and former Ag. Chairman APC), Chief Ogbogbo Nnamdi (Former APC LGA Leader).

“Hon. Isobo Jack (Former Caretaker Chairman, APC), Chief Hon.Wisdom Wakama, ( Former Minority Leader in the State Assembly). Hon.Alpine Whyte (Former Deputy Mayor Phalga LGA).”

The others, according to the statement are Hon. Alamese Martins-Yellow, Hon.Ilamabo Mirilla, Hon. Faaye Franklin, Barr. Paul Nwankwoala (former APC Legal Adviser).
