BREAKING: Again, Bandits ‘Abduct’ Secondary School Students

Three  Secondary School students have been reportedly abducted from Gobirawa village of Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State on Tuesday.

A resident of Gobirawa, who spoke under condition of anonymity, confirmed to Daily Trust that the students were abducted after closing from the Community Day Secondary School in Gobirawa.

“It is not a boarding school and all of the three abductees are male students and they were abducted this afternoon on their way home after closing from the school,” the source said.

The source also added that there were speculations that the school was closed down by the state government following the incident.

An attempt to confirm the closure of the school from government officials also failed as calls put across to the state Commissioner of Education, Dr Lawal Badamasi, were not responded to, while the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, Sani Danjuma, said he was not aware of the incident as he was out of the state on an official assignment.

When contacted, the Police spokesman in Katsina, SP Gambo Isah, said he would contact the Divisional Police Officer of Safana Local Government Area to ascertain the veracity of the report.
