11 Suspects Arrested As Rival Cults Engage In Supremacy Battle In Osun

 

No fewer than 11 suspects have been arrested by the operatives of the police force in Osun as rival cults engaged each other in supremacy fight in Osogbo, the state capital of Osun.

 

AMILOADED gathered that the two rival groups of hoodlums who clashed in Ilesha Garage area in Osogbo on Tuesday led to panic in other areas such Oke Ayepe, Oja Oba and Station Road, as traders and others residents fled while the clashes lasted.

It was learnt that the rival groups exchanged gunfire until the early hours of Wednesday when security operatives dispersed them.

Speaking with our correspondent, the state police spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, said: “we arrested five suspects on Tuesday. Another six were arrested today (Wednesdy). Those we arrested were caught with weapons.

“The situation is under control. Men have been deployed and we have also intensified monitoring of flash points.”
