Federal Lawmaker, Taiwo Oluga Empowers 200 Youths, Women, Doles Out Start-Up Fund

 

Honourable Taiwo Oluga, Member, representing Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency has on Tuesday trained 200 youths and women in Osun state in various empowerment programmes.

The empowerment programme was organized by the federal lawmaker in collaboration with National Directorate for Employment (NDE) under the disbursement of Micro Enterprises Enhancement Scheme (MEES) Loans.

During the training monitored by AMILOADED, the youths were trained on various skills including cosmology, soap-making, photography, among others.

During the training, Mr Dikko Abubakar, the NDE Director – General (DG), represented by Mr Ismail Yekini, Osun NDE State Director said the concerted efforts of the agency and the Federal lawmaker would help uplift the lives of many of the constituents through job creation.

Apart from the training, Abubakar added that each of the trainees would receive N10,000 each as a support after the training.

According to him, the training would further help in reducing the rate of unemployment and creating more jobs to the people across the federal constituencies.

“This would help in reducing unemployment and also create more jobs to the jobless within the federal constituency”, Abubakar said.

While delivering her remarks, Oluga showed appreciation to the NDE for partnering with her constituency through skill acquisition and enhancement of scheme loans.

The lawmaker who was also represented by Honourable Femi Abiona said qualitative empowerment of the masses is far better than indulgences given to the people for gratification purposes stating her commitment to ensuring that the dividends of democracy are delivered to her constituents.

“I will use every medium available to me as a Federal lawmaker to bring dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of my people,” Oluga noted.

However, she implored all beneficiaries of the scheme to make Judicious use of the start-up funds given to them to better their lives.

The Iyalode of Gbongan town, Chief Mrs Comfort Oluoni who was present at the training commended the lawmaker for the good gestures, saying Oluga has done tremendously well by putting smiles on the faces of her constituents through various empowerment Programmes.

Chief Oluoni described the gesture as a good one saying this is one of the best ways to bring the dividends of democracy to the people of the state, urging other politicians to emulate the good gesture of the lawmaker.

She appealed to the beneficiaries to make good use of the empowerment opportunity to boost-up their welfare.

Speaking on behalf of the other beneficiaries, Oyawale Samuel and Adesina Fatima appreciated the lawmaker for counting them worthy, saying the gesture would help to ameliorate the pains of unemployed youths in the area.

The duo said that the lawmaker has through her gesture appreciated the people of her Constituency who voted her during the election, promising to continue to support Oluga’s Political ambitions.

The beneficiaries described the empowerment programme as a suitable avenue to reduce poverty in the state urged other politicians and well-meaning Nigerians to emulate the good gesture.

Oluga, had about three weeks ago empowered thousands of her Constituents through empowerment and skill acquisition Programmes.

The equipment distributed during the empowerment Programmes, held in Gbongan includes 79 motorcycles, 45 deep freezers, 15 hairdryers, 18 grinding machines and 15 sewing machines and cheques of N500,000 given to each four market women heads (Iyalojas),

The N500,000 doled out to each of the four Iyaloja was to be shared among market women with small scale business as loan without interest.
