[BREAKING] Kankara Schoolboys Abduction: PDP Reps Move To Impeach Buhari

The Peoples Democratic Party caucus in the House of Representatives has, again, called for the impeachment of the President Muhammadu Buhari especially over the abduction of over 300 schoolboys in Kankara, Katsina State.

The caucus had recently urged Nigerians to prevail on the National Assembly to begin an impeachment process against Buhari over the killing of 43 rice farmers by Boko Haram in Borno State.

Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Publicity, Benjamin Kalu, had dismissed the call as an unpopular opinion of only the factional opposition leader, Kingsley Chinda.

But at a press conference in Abuja on Thursday, Chinda restated the call for the impeachment of the President over the growing insecurity in the country.

Chinda was accompanied by other PDP members in the House.

According to Chinda: “The president should be impeached over the growing insecurity in the country.”

Recall that Boko Haram had abducted about 600 students from the Government Science Secondary School in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Following the abduction, the terrorist group had explained that their action was to discourage western education and encourage Islam

On Thursday, the insurgent released a video claiming it has custody of the abducted students.

The clip which is six-minute-and-30-second long, shows scores of young boys behind him, all covered in dust within a forest area.

The relatively older schoolboy who spoke to the camera urged the Nigerian Government to settle amicably with their abductors and advised against the use of military force in rescuing them.

The student also disclosed that some other students were killed.
