Osun Reps Member, Oke felicitates With Oyetola On 2nd Anniversary, Says There Is Need To Do More

A federal lawmaker representing Obokun/Oriade Constituency in Osun state, Honourable Busayo Oluwole Oke has congratulated Osun State Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola on the celebration of his second anniversary in office saying that there is need to do more.

The Lawmaker sent his congratulatory message in a statement signed by himself and made available to AMILOADED.

According to Oke, governance in the state though has witnessed tremendous developments in the area of education and workers’ welfare but there is still a need to do more on poverty alleviation and community development.

He stated that it is heartwarming to note that Oyetola had reversed the obnoxious educational policies foisted on the state, which had brought setbacks to the educational standards of Osun state.

The veteran legislator said that the people are now happy that their state is no longer the state of Osun but Osun State in conformity with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).

He also identified improved workers’ welfare and condition of service for staffers of various ministries, agencies and parastatals in the state as part of the success recorded in the last two years.

While urging the governor to be more focused, Oke urged him not to renege his promises to the workers in the state.

“The governor should embark and focus more on youth empowerment, and other programmes that would enhance the welfare and further socio-economic advancement of the state,” Oke stated.

He also charged the governor to use the rest of his tenure to draw more attention to some rural roads within his constituency among which he named Ipetu-Ijesa – Ifetedo road, Ìjẹ̀bú-Jẹ̀ṣà – Esa-Odo – Ilare – Otan-Ilé road and Esa-Oke – Esa-Odo road.

Hon Oke further called on the governor to ensure the security of lives and property of the people of Ijesa land, especially against miners who are perpetrating evils in the area as they are forcefully exploiting gold and other mineral resources in Obokun and Oriade Local Governments and other parts of Ijesa land.

The Legislator appealed to Governor Oyetola to use his good office to rehabilitate tourism sites in his Constituency, especially the Olumirin Water Fall in Erin-Ijesa and Kiriji War Site, Imesi-Ile.

He further enjoined the governor to ensure fairness and transparency in the forthcoming local government election in the state.
