Osun Police Speaks On Viral Report Of Train Killing ’47’ Cows (Photos)

 

The Osun State Police Command has reacted following the viral report that a train on Wednesday in Osogbo lost track and killed ’47’ cows.

AMILOADED gathered that the incident occurred around 3pm at power line are in Osogbo.

An eyewitness identified simply as Oredola said the train was heading for Kwara State, but when it got to Power Line, Osogbo, the last coach of the train carrying stones detached, derailed from the track and killed the cows.

One of the owners of the cows identified as Rabiu Ismail expressed sadness over the unfortunate incident.

“I am not happy about this incident at all. I have lost cows. The cows that died worth N10 millions,” he said.

Meanwhile, contrary to viral report, the Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, Opalola Yemisi in a phone interview with our correspondent said: “It is not 47 cows that were killed. They are 41 cows. 37 cows were killed by the train while the remaining 4 were injured.”
