EndSARS: Osun Judicial Panel Of Inquiry Adjusts Sitting Days, Reveals Why

The Osun Judicial Panel of Inquiry for Restitution for Victims of SARS-related abuses to seek redress has adjusted its sitting days.

AMILOADED recalls that the panel had earlier announced its sitting days for Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

However, when our correspondent visited the panel sitting venue located at the Council of Obas’ Chamber, Finance Building at the Government Secretariat, Abeere in Osogbo on Tuesday morning, none of the member of the panel was seen.

Meanwhile, when our correspondent contacted Mr Ismail AbdulAfiz, a member of the 13-man panel on the telephone to ask why there was no sitting, he said: “For now, we don’t have a case on Tuesdays. Beecause of our personal schedules, there is a readjustment in our sitting days which is now Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. It is expected that most of us will have personal engagements. You know this is not a permanent appointment.

“We are supposed to have made public announcement before now, so I will do a follow-up to that effect. We met on Saturday and changed the days coupled with the fact that there is no matter adjourned till Tuesday.”

Recall that the panel at its last sitting on Saturday adjourned two of its petitions to Saturday, November 21.
