Sunday Bisi Officially Assumes Office As Osun PDP Chairman, Promises New Dawn In The State

Honourable Sunday Bisi has officially assumed office as the Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Osun State Chapter.

During a press conference held at the State Party Secretariat, Honourable Bisi showed appreciation to the former chairman of the party, Elder Sunday Olatunde Akanfe Atidade while adding that the party would witness a new dawn in the state.

“It is no longer news that I have been appointed, in conformity with the extant rules, as the chairman of our party, the PDP in Osun state to see through the tenure of my brother from Ijesaland, Hon Soji Adagunodo, who has led the party for a little over 2years.

“I want to say we all appreciate his contributions to the party and may God almighty bless his ways. I called the press briefing to reassure our leaders and teeming party members across Osun State that the new dawn in the party in which I have been served the privilege to lead, is to build on the recent ointment of success recorded by the party.

“The kind of success that we had with the overwhelming support of the good people of Osun State in the last gubernatorial election in the state before the desperate mandate looters got in the way,” the Chairman said.

He added that there is a need for the party to respond to the calls of the electorates in the state to restore it to a path of dignity.

“The task ahead of all of us in Osun PDP today is very clear. The task simply begets the need for us as a party to respond without wavering, to the loud whisperings of the electorate in restoring the State to the path of dignity and prosperity for them and for all of us, indigenous inhabitants, who have no other place to call our home come rain, come shine,” He added.

According to him, achieving the onerous objective of bringing Osun State back to the doorsteps of Osun people requires collective efforts and responsibilities.

“Now is the time for every party official from unit to the state level to discharge their respective duties with conscientious dispatch and uncompromising discipline. There’s no time to waste and I expect we are all aware of this.

“I stand here today to appeal to all who feel embittered for whatever reason, to please sheath their swords in the interest of silently dying people of our dear state who are investing so much confidence, support and hopes in our capacity as a tested ray of light after the current tunnel in the state,” he further stated.

Concerning the ongoing protest in the country, Bisi said ‘I once again on behalf of all of us in Osun PDP, condemn in strongest of terms, the needless loss of lives as triggered by APC pampered thugs in the state’.

He added that the party is extremely worried that the APC administration in the state has refused to bring the assailants who variously attacked protesters in the state to book, even when victimized protesters have not minced words about identities of the attackers.
