#RevolutionNow: Police Announce Number Of Arrested Protesters, Reveal Next Move

 

The Police Command in Lagos has confirmed the arrest of 30 protesters.

They took part in the RevolutionNow demonstrations across the state.

Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement said they were arrested at various locations.

Their offence is “unlawful assembly and conduct likely to cause a breach of the public peace, and others including violation of COVID-19 protocols and laws”.

The spokesman said those in custody put on RevolutionNow vests and carried placards.

He announced that they will be charged to court on Friday.

Similar gatherings were held in some other states.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered the trial of Inspector Adadu Innocent attached to PMF 22 Ikeja.

“He has been detained for hitting and injuring Kayode Jaiyeola, a journalist with Punch newspaper, at a protest scene at Maryland, on Thursday,” he said.
