Nigerian Students Get Cash Gifts From Chinese Govt

 

Forty Nine Nigerian Students from University of Abuja(UNIABUJA) have received cash donations from the Chinese government.

The students received N100, 000 each totalling N4.9 million.

They were selected based on quality, gender, performance and needs (orphans).

The cash gift was presented to the benefitting students by the Charge D’ Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Abuja, Zhao Yong, at the main campus of the university in Gwagwalada, on Tuesday.

The envoy said the donation was as part of activities to commemorate Nigeria and China’s independence anniversary on October 1.

He also said it is part of efforts to celebrate 49 years of friendship and bilateral relations between the two countries.
