The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) is agog again with the national convention activities that will see to the emergence of student leaders who will steer the affairs of the Nigerian students.

As at the press time, more than 14 aspirants from across the federation have indicated in running for the post of NANS National President.

G. Solomon (A.G.S), Comrade Ogunrotifa Adeyemi, Comrade Abdul Kareem Ridwan O.Arty, Comrade Sunday Asefon from Ekiti, Comrade Oyejide Abdul Salam and others.

However, our correspondent gathered that the political calaculation for the post of NANS National President is said to be zoned to the Southwest (NANS Zone D)

As a result, this has given the chance for students in any tertiary institutions in Southwest to be eligible to contest for the post of NANS National President.

Our correspondent learnt that some aspirants who are not schooling in Southwest have left their respective schools to enrol for another school in Southwest so that they will be eligible to contest for the post of NANS National President.

It was also gathered that some who are Christians among them decided to add a Muslim name to their names so that they can be able to gather more votes from the Northern states tertiary institutions.

However, according to political eagles who confirmed to our correspondent said that anyone among Alopay, Asefon, Tunice, Captain or Ladoja might emerge as the NANS National President.

Details later!

  1. It is a great tragedy that you said your site is a news site that can be trusted, yet you spew malicious, concocted and degrading article such as this.

How could you mention mention the name of other aspirants and add their schools without mentioning the schools of other aspirants?

How could you be so debilitating and say that others added names of a religion just for the sole of winning elections; are you not aware of the uniqueness and diversity of our country?

How could you, then, select some aspirants and say that one of them will win; are you and your pay master planning something sinister?

    Now, let me ask you:

*go and make your research on the efforts put by the aspirants in the Students’ Unionism and tell me who the cap fits?

*go and make your findings on what the constitution says and the history of NANS struggles about persons who have occupied offices from a Zone but are not naturally from the Zone and tell me who the cap fits?

    * go and make your findings on the consequences of what you said vis-à-vis the law on hate speech and tell me what will your pay master/sposor will do when the weight of the law descends on you?

At a time like this when we are looking forward to entrenching meritocracy in accordance with the established law guiding the affairs of the Association, you are still making derogatory, inciting and hate posts.
    It is rather unfortunate!

Let me advice you to, please, go and make your findings properly, be well guided and come up with a better article as this is cheap and unintelligent.

    Thank you.
