Osun State Government has said the last Coronavirus patient at the state isolation centre is still receiving treatment and yet to test negative to the infection.

Reacting to the rumour making the round in the state that the last patient had tested negative and discharged, two serving commissioners in the state debunked the speculation when contacted by AMILOADED on Wednesday.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Rafiu Isamotu, said there was no iota of truth in the rumour.

Also speaking with AMILOADED on the telephone, Commissioner for Works and Transport in the state, Hon. Remi Omowaiye said the patient was still receiving treatment at the isolation.

Omowaiye said that the patient was responding to treatment and there was likelihood that the patient would recover soon.

He warned against circulation of falsehood in the state saying that if the patient had recovered, the state government would have addressed the press.

He therefore urged citizens to avoid circulation of falsehood warning that erring individuals would be prosecuted according to the law.

  1. We appreciate your selflessness, sacrifice and sincerity of purpose in all regards.
Please, it will be heart warming to include the
volume (number) of cumulative and daily tests: this will go a long way to helping in making some informed analysis and reasonable deductions.
    Thank you.
God protect and bless you, us all, and Nigeria. Amen.

  2. Weldon sir.Pls sir l advice you come up with community test for COVID 19 in the state. I have a strong feeling that the people of Osun will be hiding their health status so that they will not be stigmatized for such diseases.
