Osun Council Completes Low Cost Housing Units To Tackle Housing Deficit

With a view to addressing housing deficits and providing shelter for residents of Orolu local government council, a 10 low cost housing units of 2 bedroom family apartment in the has been completed by the council.

The council chairman, Prince Adekunle Benson said his administration successfully completed the project which would be beneficial for low income earners in the area.

Benson disclosed this recently in Ifon-Osun during a stakeholders’ meeting with party leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the council.

According to him, the low cost housing project was necessary as part of the efforts of his administration to finding lasting solution to the problems of housing deficit affecting people of the area especially low income earners.

While arguing that the housing units would increase the internal generated revenue of the council, Benson said the houses would be commissioned soon.

He said his administration would embark on the second phase of the project without delay.

The council boss said that the demand for shelter had continued to increase due to population growth and daily influx of people into the area.

According to him, “no doubt that shelter ranks second to food as a necessity to human being and this is one of the responsibilities of government.”

He stressed that provision of affordable houses is one of the priorities of this administration, purposely to make life meaningful and comfortable for the people of the area.

Other projects that have been completed and ready for commissioning include: Ifon Osun Judicial Division of High Court Of Justice Building, electrification projects, borehole projects and others.
