Just In: Residents Involve In Auto Crash While Returning From Pilgrimage Centre In Osun

Tragedy on Sunday morning struck in Eripa, Boluwaduro Local Government of Osun State when a fatal motor accident occurred in the state.

 

The victims of the accident, according to eyewitness account, were said to have finished participating in an annual Oke Maria pilgrimage in Otan Ayegabju, Osun State and were returning when their bus lost control and rammed into a fence.

 

The pilgrimage held between Saturday and Sunday where thousands of worshippers had gathered for prayers at the Oke Maria mountain located in Otan Ayegbaju.

 

The bus was said to have belonged to SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Lagere, Ile-Ife.

 

It was gathered that the vehicle had lost control before ramming into a fence at the other side of the Iree/Eripa/Otan-Ayegbaju/Ila Expressway causing the vehicle to fall in a ditch. An eyewitness said about ten persons died but AMILOADED was yet to confirm this from the Federal Road safety commission (FRSC) in the state as we await the full report.

 

FRSC officials were said to have arrived the scene and evacuated the accident victims from the bus with the help of residents of the community.

 

As at the time of filing this report, the victims had been rushed to a hospital in the state.
