Breaking: Buhari Appoints Ex-DG DSS As NISS Chairman

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed the former director-general of the Department for State Services (DSS), A.A. Gadzama, as the new chairman of the National Institute for Security Studies (NISS).

Nigerian Tribune reports that the appointment, which takes effect from December 16, 2019, for an initial four years, was contained in a statement by the secretary to the government of the federation, Boss Mustapha.

According to Vanguard, the public relations officer of the DSS, Peter Afunanya, confirmed the appointment on Tuesday, January 14.

It was reported that the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, said in a statement that the appointment was part of the president’s desire of fast-tracking the targets and mandate of the ministry of communications and the digital economy.

In a related development, the president also gave the approvals for new aides to the First Lady, a federal republic of Nigeria.
