The chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Adamawa chapter, Reverend Lawan Andimi, has reportedly been kidnapped by Boko Haram insurgents.
Daily Trust reports that the cleric was kidnapped during the recent attack by the insurgents on Michika in the northeast state.
According to the national daily newspaper, Reverend Andimi’s abduction was confirmed by traditional rulers in the area to the deputy governor of the state, Crowther Seth.
The district head of Michika, Ngida Kwache told the deputy governor that the cleric had been abducted since Thursday, January 2 when the insurgents hit the area.

He said: “The pastor was abducted the day Boko Haram attacked our community. He was last seen when the suspected insurgents forced him into a Toyota Hilux. Since then, we have not heard from him or his abductors.”
The deputy governor reassured the affected communities that the administration of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri had stepped up efforts to ensure peace in the state, saying their requests would be forwarded to the Federal Government for appropriate action.
The insurgents had stormed the outskirts of the city at about 7:00 pm, resulting in a stampede and residents scampering for safety.
