Amotekun: Southwest Governors At Their Best By Hon Rotimi Makinde

 The need for us to ensure we rise up to the challenges and partner with our  governments following the successful launching of “Amotekun” can not be over emphasised. 

This is the dream of our forefathers and their unrealized dream coming to fruition. We are again leading to show what unity could achieve. 

This, indeed, is of joy and I guess our  great politician and leaders of the past in the calibre of Late Pa Obafemi Awolowo of blessed memory will be happy to see us finally working together.

The  programme is developed to ensure we have a society that is free of security threat; the beginning of better things to come in partnership.  It is therefore our responsibility as citizens to make it a collective responsibility to ensure its success. 

We must explore how to build it to an enviable position to attract other states of the federation and a committed building with the capacity of adequate security without rivalry with other  government  security agencies. We must collaborate more for it to be more effective in addressing sustainable security  challenges.

Our state governors deserve accolades and  appreciation for this wonderful initiative of working together to ensure we live in a society that will be free of fear.
