Osun State Deputy Governor, Mr. Benedict Gboyega Alabi has commended the leadership of Osun Youth Agenda OYA on their efforts in promoting social lives and lending supports in all ramifications towards the progress of the government of the state.
In his appreciation message during a recent visit in his office at Abere Osogbo, by Kimpact Development Initiative and Members of Osun Youth Agenda OYA  Technical Committee, Mr Benedict said the groups have contributed immensely, supporting the government to ensuring a safe delivery by the administration.
Osun Youth Agenda Technical Committee expressed concerns around issues
affecting youth and their development in State of Osun such as lack of sustainable
youth development framework, Civil despondency amidst youth, spate of security challenges and untapped resources that could create wealth for the state and
presented the Osun Youth Agenda Brochure that contain recommendations that
were birthed from research and consultative processes.
Mr. Benedict Alabi in his words said what the Osun Youth Agenda Team have done
is to let us (Osun State Government) know they are thinking, concern about Osun
State and the team saw it as a civil responsibility to contribute to the growth of the state.
“OYA thought is my thought, State
of Osun has a lot of resources and tertiary institutions, numerous to mention. Why
can’t we have educational hub, turning education to wealth”.
“If you want a good IT training in Nigeria and Africa, go to Osun, each tertiary institution can specialize in
a field (Medical, Engineering) and I (Deputy Governor) see it as a good way to go”.
He further stated that the issue of standalone Agency or commission for youth development really worth it, most especially when there are partners who are ready to work the state government on it.
Mr. Benedict noted that youths have the highest population, agile and they have
the vote, but complacency is very high amidst the youth.
