A former Commissioner for Health in Osun state and the Osun Central Senatorial Candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in the forthcoming Senatorial election, Otunba Ganny Layiwola Oyeduntan has solicited the support and votes of his constituents with a promise to transform the district.

On a statement issued on Saturday, Oyeduntan said he knows where the shoes pinch and that he would bring succour to the plight of the people of the district.

He said,” I hereby reach out to you with all sense of responsibility, to seek your support as I step out to contest for the position of your SENATOR in the forthcoming elections. I am contesting the election on the platform of ACTION DEMOCRATIC PARTY (ADP).

“The consultations have been wide and penetrating. It is still ongoing. I have been encouraged by your encouragements. The solidity of support for the ‘one we know’ and desire for quality representation is very well noted. You know me just as I can claim that our relationships are dated. In all these while, we have developed a working mutually beneficial relationships. I assure you I will go and come back with my name  and reputations intact.

“I come to you with a record. A record of performances in my previous public offices:
The FREE HEALTH CARE policy of Chief Bisi Akande’s government was superintended by me as the Honourable Commissioner for Health. Its implementation was a roaring success. Under my watch new hospitals were built and commissioned; drugs were available comprehensively at our 52 hospitals and LG Health centres statewide; minor surgeries were carried out and at the doorsteps of our people. Attendance in our hospitals rose from about 90,000 in  year 2000 to about 700,000 by year 2003. More importantly, our healthcare personnel were so motivated that they never for once contemplated any form of industrial dispute.

“In 2012, I, along with some other compatriots were saddled with the supervision of the Infrastructural developments in Osun Schools. The O’School Committee once again carried out its assignment, as a Project Management Committee, and recorded a roaring success. The result of our efforts are visible In every nook and cranny of Osun. I was the chairman of The O’ School Committee.

“Apart from these official tours of duties, my mobilising activities as the Pioneer Coordinator of ORANMIYAN and subsequent struggle to reclaim Ogbeni’s mandate  got me involved closely with our active political gamesmen and women of all ages and status.
My antecedent in NADECO introduced me to selflessness in the service of mankind while my Afenifere connection honed my Yoruba nationalistic bent. As The pioneer Chairman of Afenifere Renewal Group (ARG)in Osun, I am conversant with the larger picture of what and where the Yoruba stand (for) at the Nigerian national level.

“I have worked diligently with several of our political and service leaders. I have remained committed to the progressive ideals since my days in the struggle to bring back democracy in Nigeria. I can claim to be a thoroughbred, dyed in the wool progressive.

“My tour of duties in public office introduced and nurtured my acquaintance with our/my people in Osun and most especially in Osun Central Senatorial District. I have been lucky to have developed long standing relationships with our various community leaders. I know who we are and what we stand for as a people. I know where the shoes pinch.
I am OTUNBA GANNY LAYIWOLA (Lai) OYEDUNTAN FCCA; FCA. The one you know.

“With all sense of responsibility and duty, I respectfully offer myself for service as your representative from OSUN CENTRAL SENATORIAL DISTRICT, in the ninth SENATE of The Federal Republic of Nigeria, in 2019.”
