Former Osun Gov. Aregbesola, Grants Amnesty To Six Prisoners

Few days to the expiration of his tenure as Governor of State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola granted six prisoners who are serving jail terms at Federal Prison Ibara, Abeokuta Ogun State.

A press statement by the Head of Service Dr. Oyegbade Olowogboyega states that one Kazeem Adiamo who was sentenced to death in year 2012 has now been granted freedom.

Other freed inmates are Adesina Bolaji whose death sentence in 2006 was commuted to life sentenced in 2008; Kayode Dada whose death sentence in 2006 was commuted to life sentence in 2006 and Adewale Owolabi who was sentenced to death.

Lateefat Jimoh and Fatai Jimoh has their death sentenced commuted to ten years imprisonment.

This gesture is coming on the prerogative attached to the office of the executive Governor to grant amnesty to prisoners who have shown remorse and cultivated sound character while in prison.
