Court Remands Three Men For alleged Robbery

An Osogbo Magistrates Court in Osun State has ordered the Remands of three men in an Ilesha prison custody for alleged robbery and unlawful assembly.

The trio defendant Adeoye pelumi 22, Nasirudeen Jamiu 25 and Afeeze Adigun 32 was docked on Monday before Magistrate Fatimah Sodamade on seven count charges bothering on conspiracy, felony to wit Armed robbery  unlawful assembly and breach of peace

The prosecutor ASP Fagboyinbo Abiodun told the court the the trio accused persons committed the offense on September 24, 2017 at about 1pm at Island Bar Asubiaro area in Osogbo.

He explained that the trio Armed themselves with dangerous weapons such as cutlass, axes and robbed Dayo Owolabi of his blackberry  Mobil phone valued 21,000.

The prosecutor said the trio accused persons engaged in an unlawful society called Eiye secret cult.

The trio were also alleged of disturbing the peace of the community.

According to prosecutor the offense contravene section 6(b)and punishable under section 1(1), section 64 (a) (b) , section 69 punishable under section 70 of the robbery and firearms (special provisions)  Act cap R11 volume 14 laws of federation of Nigeria and section 516 section 355 of the criminal code cap 34 volume 11.laws of Osun State 2003.

The plea of the trio was not taken due to magnitude of the offense.

The magistrate Mrs Fatimoh Sodamade ordered that they be remanded in Ilesha prison custody . She also ruled that the case file be duplicated and sent to the office of Directorate for public prosecution for legal advice.

The case was adjourned to October 24 for mention.
