A Non Governmental Organization, Ekiti Development Front (EDF) has distributed working tools and equipment to residents of Ekiti state in order to ameliorate the challenges their works pose.
The 163 beneficiaries were drawn from five local government areas in the state which include Ekiti West, Ado, Ijero, Efon, and Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Areas.
This empowerment programme, which is the fifth of its kind by the organization was held at Aramoko Motor Park, Ekiti West Local Government of Ekiti.
The convener of the programme, Barr. Adeoye Aribasoye said the empowerment is his parsonal initiative aimed at giving succour to the residents.
The areas Aribasoye said he has been touching include social amenities, education, economic empowerment, political enlightenment and defence of human rights.
The freely distributed items are driers for hairdressers, washing machines, sewing machines for fashion designers, Cake Mixer, Hand driller, grinding machines, spraying pump, generators, feed for chickens, Grinding Machine, Sewing Machine, Cake mixer, Food items, Dryer Spraying pump among others with 93 families getting social interventions.
Meanwhile, the NGO has charged Ekiti electorate to vote for Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the July 14, 2018 governorship poll in the state.
Aribasoye said the organization is supporting Fayemi because he is the only credible candidate that could prioritize people’s welfare and ensure the desired dividends of democracy in the state.
Aribasoye said the people should ignore Governor Ayo Fayose’s propaganda and vote for Fayemi in July 14 poll.
According to him, “today it was lies of creation of cattle colonies against Fayemi, yesterday they said he initiated teachers sack in Kaduna and that he has said he will come and sack teachers in Ekiti, this was how they said Fayemi has a university in Ghana four years ago and up till now the said university has no name”
Aribasoye said the PDP were into these mischiefs because they have been intimidated by Fayemi’s achievements during his term in Ekiti which doted all nucks and corner of all the sixteen local governments of the state.
He listed Fayemi’s achievements in Ekiti to include: School renovation project, building and construction of palaces across the state, Rural developmentent project with opening up and grading of 5 kilometres roads each across the 16 Local government, and owo adugbo, social security for senior citizens among others.
Aribasoye who noted that Ekiti people are wise now said ” they can differentiate between Fayemi that will truly bring the desired prosperity to Ekiti and Fayose’s continuity agenda of hunger, slavery, deception and non payment of salary.”
