A political group, Atiku Abubakar Southwest Assembly has described as a perfect peg in the round hole, the appointment of the former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniels as the Director General of 2019 Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organization.
The group, in a statement issued on Wednesday and signed by its Secretary, Abdulsalami Olaitan, expressed confidence I’m the person of Daniels stressing that the nation’s former vice president made a right choice in appointing the ex-governor to lead his campaign team.
Atiku Abubakar Southwest Assembly therefore said Atiku would surely coast to victory in the presidential election slated to hold next year, with Daniels at the leadership of his campaign.
The release reads, “the announcement of the choice of Otunba Gbenga Daniels, Former Governor of Ogun State, as the Director General for Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation 2019 meet the lovers of Democracy in Nigeria and Diaspora well.
“This choice particularly has put other blocs within and outside PDP on a difficult mission of having to strenuously search for a campaign DG who can match Otunba Gbenga Daniels in prowess, acumen, and experience politically, a task we believe is hard to achieve.
“We are deeply proud of the successes of our new DG, Otunba Gbenga Daniels, in the times past and till this material present time, and we have confidence that with the teeming cooperation of other reputable Partners, His Excellency will leave no stone unturned till Alhaji Atiku Abubakar assumes the leadership of Nigeria.
“We recall how the same Otunba Gbenga Daniels rallied all the Southwest States to deliver majority votes for the PDP in 2015 presidential election. It is our strongest belief that with an acceptable personality of His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (GCON), the fortune of PDP is bound to multiply in Southwest and beyond in 2019.
