Children’s Day: Oluwo To Host Children From Over 300 Schools Tomorrow

The Oluwo of Iwoland in Osun state,  Oba (Dr) Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi (Ilufemiloye) Telu 1 will tomorrow,  Monday, host children from over 300 schools in Iwo his domain to various entertaining activities to mark this year’s Children’s Day.

The chairman of the 2018 Greater Iwo Empire Children’s Day Committee, Evangelist Olatunbosun Alao JP said all children from Iwo would gather at Bowen University Sport Complex for the celebration.

He noted that beside the traditional match past, there would also be cultural dance performances from different schools.

Bouncing castle, table tennis, and other playing games would also be made available for the fun of the children.

To add glamour to the celebration, the traditional ruler would also  be hosting top government functionaries, dignitaries from far and wide, and all sons and daughters of Iwoland to the Third Edition of Greater Iwo Empire Children’s Day Celebration.

According to Alao,  “The idea of the children’s day celebration is part of the efforts of Oluwo of Iwoland to promote inclusion and integration of children into the wider society.

“One of the strategies being employed by the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi Telu 1 is the annual celebration of children. The third edition in the series, which will be celebrated on 28th day of May, 2018, is tagged “Greater Iwo Empire Children’ Day 2018 Celebration” and the theme is “Our Children, Our Tomorrow”.

“More than 300 schools from the three local governments (Ayedire, Iwo & Ola-Oluwo) that made up Iwoland will participate in this event which happens to be the third of it’s kind in the history of Iwoland.”

All children are invited to be part of the celebration.
