2018 Osun Election Was Stolen From Me – Gov Adeleke Insists

Osun State Governor, Mr. Ademola Adeleke, on Monday alleged that the 2018 governorship election in the state was stolen from him.

In an interview on Wazobia TV, Adeleke claimed that he did not lose the election to his predecessor, Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC), but that the election was stolen.

“I didn’t lose to Oyetola; they stole the mandate of the people of Osun State,” he reiterated, reaffirming his long-held stance on the disputed election.

Regarding his victory in the 2022 election, Adeleke said, “I won it, and I didn’t just win it; I defeated him comprehensively (I no just win am, I flog am).” He attributed his success to divine intervention, explaining that God hid 200,000 votes after his opponents attempted to rig the election.

Adeleke also credited his political success to divine intervention, stating, “God put disunity in my opponent’s camp, and that made them fight themselves before I returned from America.”

On the issue of borrowing, he clarified, “I have never borrowed funds; instead, I set aside my security vote for infrastructure and development in Osun State.”

Reflecting on his journey, he shared that he has learned to be thankful to God in both good times and bad times.

Adeleke also explained his love for dancing, calling it a tactic to deceive his opponents.

On his promise to the people of Osun State, especially regarding roads, he said, “When you’re doing agriculture and people have farms, but if they don’t have good roads, how are they going to access the city to sell their produce?”
